before the store opened, i had a vision in my head of what each display would look like. i made a functional laminated lay-out of the floor plan where i plotted the color lines, the seasonal flow and desired samples. and then we opened. and those plans changed. why? because i heard things i wasn't expecting. like...do you have black and white fabric? i quickly reworked some space and soon we not only had the fabric, it had a place of it's own. then i spotted this book...big fun with a little fabric...by amanda herring. of quilted fish fame. i loved, loved, loved the design on the cover. i so wanted to make that quilt. one small problem. i. have. no. time.
enter aimee doershuk. she had been working in another quilt shop in northeast ohio that sadly closed recently. so she came to see me and asked if i would like her to make us a sample. she too was drawn to this book. so we agreed this was it. one tiny issue. i. have. very. small. walls. not to worry. aimee worked her design magic and condensed a pattern for big fun, into little fun. i love it!!! thank you aimee:)
